Family of Andre Hill, a 47-year-old Black man, alleges Officer Adam Coy used excessive and deadly force by shooting Hill on December 22, 2020 while Hill stood in a garage holding a cell phone. Coy was responding to a non-emergency call about a vehicle running in front of a house. Coy did not activate his body camera until after shooting Hill and did not render medical aid. Claims of excessive force, wrongful death, and civil rights violations under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
