PoliceConduct.org exists to preserve public records of law enforcement interactions and support accountable, evidence-based discussion. Our comment spaces are hosted through Disqus and are public. We welcome thoughtful, on-topic contributions and constructive disagreement.

COMMENT POLICY SUMMARY

Be respectful. Stay on topic. Provide evidence when possible. Do not post personal information or harass others.

WHAT WE ENCOURAGE

• On-topic discussion focused on the report, agency, or personnel profile.
• Good-faith disagreement with ideas, not personal attacks.
• Corrections, clarifications, and additional context with sources.
• Respectful tone and clear, specific claims.

WHAT WE DO NOT ALLOW

• Harassment, hate speech, threats, or incitement to violence.
• Doxing or sharing private personal information (addresses, phone numbers, emails).
• Defamation, fabricated evidence, or knowingly false statements.
• Content that identifies minors or other vulnerable individuals.
• Graphic content unrelated to the discussion.
• Spam, scams, or promotional posts that are not relevant.
• Impersonation or misrepresentation of identity or affiliation.

MODERATION

We reserve the right to remove, edit, or restrict comments that violate this policy or our Community Guidelines. Some comments may be held for review, especially if they include links, come from new commenters, or are flagged by the community. We may close comment threads when a topic is under active investigation, presents safety risks, or becomes unproductive.

Why is my comment pending?

Comments can be held for review by moderators, especially for new or guest commenters or comments containing links. If approved, your comment will appear publicly.

Why was my comment removed?

Comments are removed when they violate this policy, are off-topic, or pose legal or safety concerns. We aim to be consistent and fair in enforcement.

How do I report a comment?

Use the “Flag” option in the Disqus menu next to the comment. You can also contact us through the contact form on our site if you believe a comment requires urgent review.

Why are comments closed?

We may close comments on sensitive or high-risk topics, or on older pages that are no longer actively moderated.
